At the end of June we captured Callum and Benji’s day at the beautiful Woodhall Manor, it was an absolute stonker of a day to be a part of. After meeting up with Callum and Benji last year at their home to take a few photos of them with Syd (their elderly dog just in case he didn’t make it to the wedding …. Spoiler alert … he did and we love him) and hearing about their day I knew we were going to have a whale of a time.
Their ceremony was conducted by a fabulous drag queen called Sue Gives A F**k and their friend Dandelion who did a handfasting and jumping of the broom. They also had one of their friends who is an Opera Singer perform and it was all absolutely different and amazing! Syd was a ring bearer and performed his role perfectly escorted by his brilliant dog sitter Amanda (Amanda’s Ark)
They wanted to do their group shots in the meadow if possible and we did these in a formal/informal way on a beautiful ornate seat. Thank you to Sarah, Lorraine and all the staff at Woodhall for being so accommodating to all our requests and making sure that the day ran effortlessly. It was a pleasure working alongside you all.
Then in for their meal, the room was breath-taking with trees and bright, rainbow floral flowers everywhere (Verity at Verity Marston Flowers did an incredible job). The Cupcakes were all made by Callum’s Auntie and were scrumptious looking (I am disappointed I didn’t get to try one as I love Cake!).
After speeches and a little bit of down time while the evening guests arrived Benji got into quick drag for the evening and Sue got ready to perform her evening set. What can I say about the evening … it was incredible, unusual and something so special to photograph. Sue did a set followed by a game and then Callum and Benji’s First Dance was ‘Sissy That Walk’ and all the guests got up and joined in doing catwalk runs!
These two are such a fabulous couple and adored by everyone (it’s easy to see why when you meet them), we ended the evening capturing Benji putting Syd to bed with Grandad which was a lovely way to end this day … I just wish we could do it all over again. Here’s a small peep at an incredible day.
