During a wedding day I love having a little bit of alone time away with the two of you to do some couple photos. This is the only part of your day where I would ask that it’s just the three of us so that you don’t get distracted by other people and you can really just enjoy some alone time (I know I’m with you but the majority of the time I’m not close enough to listen!).
I like doing my couple shots ideally in two different parts of your day
Firstly, before you go into your meal to give you a breather and a chance to take it all in (only I come with you for these photos as David stays to capture what your guests are up to).
Secondly, I also like a little bit of time in the evening (if I’m staying with you for this part of the day) as the light changes and it creates a whole different lot of images (what you’ll often hear referred to by photographers as ‘the golden hour’). There is usually a good window of time after your wedding breakfast and speeches are over before your evening guests arrive where you may fancy a wander for this.
Your couple photos are always led by the two of you and whilst I will suggest areas I’d like to go to such as a garden, tree etc. I won’t be making the two of you do anything that isn’t you as a couple or that you feel uncomfortable with. I feel these photographs really should represent your bond and the two of you and your relationship rather than doing set up things like piggy backs and star jumps (unless that is you as a couple in which case please tell me and I will photograph it for you).
I would ask for a minimum or 15 minutes of your day for your couple photos but if you’d like to spend longer doing them I’m more than happy for this too.
