Our next August wedding was Vicky and Chris’ day and we were back at one of our favourite venues to work at for this one, the stunning Haughley Park Barn. Vicky and Chris’ entire day took place at Haughley and it was a stunning day to be a part of. So many wonderful finishing touches including hearts from the children Vicky teaches with little comments in each one on what they thought love was, oodles of bunting that Vicky had lovingly made, to a map of the world with lots of pins in as their seating plan (these two have visited a lot of places together) and a sign post with lots of destinations on of where their guests had traveled from to be a part of their day.
For this day we had glorious sunshine and all the guests could enjoy the grounds Haughley has to offer as well as the outdoor garden games which went down very well. Vicky’s dress was beautiful and the back scalloping was exquisite. Chris looked equally handsome in his suit and they both beamingly smiled all day. I love it when our couples are so relaxed that they take the tears and giggles throughout the day all in their stride. There were so many tears during the speeches that even David and I struggled not to shed a few!
For the evening we had a Ceilidh which got lots of the guests up and dancing and was a great way to keep everyone busy and engaged during the evening (although I’m glad it was them doing it and not me as I’m slightly embarrassed to say but I can’t do my left and right quickly and instinctively without thinking about it so I would have probably got in a muddle and taken out a lot of people!). Vicky’s Nanna Brenda made their wedding cake which was lovely and traditional (and actually very unusual to see one like this at the moment) which was another gorgeous finishing touch as well as the confetti Vicky had made drying the roses Chris’ buys her every week (David take note, it doesn’t have to be a special occasion to buy flowers!)
Here’s a small selection from their day to have a look at (including some photos in the kitchen gardens which look stunning in August)
