Sorry I’ve been a little quieter on here lately as we’ve been very busy this end finishing work for last year and putting plans into place for this year.
At the end of November, when wedding season had finished for us we agreed to take on a foster pup to help her become more adoptable and adjusted to life in a home environment.
Little Jess was found wandering the streets by Daniel in Romania back at the beginning of August. This clever little pup chose just the right, kind person to approach and Daniel bought her home to his and into the rescue (Noah’s Ark Romanian Rescue where we also got our two boys from). As soon as we saw this little pup we knew we wanted to help her on her way and so we sponsored her which meant we got to name her and pay towards her vaccines. She was about 8 weeks old when found (second photo below which I hope Daniel won’t mind me sharing) and whilst in Romania, she was looked after by Daniel who has lots of rescue pups and dogs until she was old enough to travel.
In October, Jess came over into kennels in the UK and had very little interest in her and no adoption offers. We hated the thought that she’d be in kennels over the Christmas period and not learning how to adapt to home life during her puppyhood so we agreed to take her on as a foster.
This little one stayed with us and the boys over the festive period and still had no firm adoption offers in place. Whilst with us she adapted so well to everything and was a lovely, calm and affectionate pup. Understandably, the charity doesn’t want foster pups to stay too long in their foster homes as both they and the fosterers become attached and it’s more unsettling for them to move on so, at the beginning of January a decision had to be made on her.
We got as far as writing up another post on all the reasons why she would make a brilliant dog for someone ready for her promotion and then, before we were about to send it we knew that all the reasons we could give and the home we wanted her to have were all the reasons she should stay here with us. So, our little family has now grown and we are the proud owners of three very different (but all equally loveable) rescue dogs.
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for us all and to see Jess grow and change over the next few months. We will endeavour to take a photo of the 5 of us soon so we can update our photo and About Us page on here but in the meantime, everyone meet the gorgeous Jess!!!!
NB: Most of the photos were taken on our phones so apologies for the lower quality!
