The next wedding I photographed was me on my own and it was my smallest wedding to date (just the two of them and I got to be one of their witnesses) and it was so special. It truly is an honour to be asked to share in just the couple’s day in this way.
Astrig and Nick’s day took place in Southwold with their ceremony happening at The Swan Hotel followed by a wander around Southwold itself and a trip down to the harbour in their fabulous camper van.
There was so much to love about this day. Astrig had chosen her flowers from The Southwold Flower Company and they were stunning, Nick’s buttonhole was also chosen by them. I love the idea of picking your own flowers for your own bouquet and then one of their florists arranging them. I also love that they’d adapted old family rings into new ones for them so that they were both sentimental but also repurposed so they suit them.
Both Astrig and Nick looked awesome for their day, smart and yet not so formal that they didn’t feel like them. I spent a lot of time with just the two of them which is a real treat and meant that their day (apart from the ceremony) was very similar to a portrait session for me where I can spend more time with the couple. Despite not being that keen on having their photos taken both of them took it all in their stride and I absolutely love so many of their photos.
I’m delighted that these two love their photos as much as I do and hopefully this day will show anyone planning a small wedding the importance of still having a photographer to capture it for you so that you’ll have photographs to treasure forever of your special day.
Here’s a small selection of their photos x
