To end our July weddings this year we had Melissa and Alistair’s gorgeous wedding day. This was a glorious sunny day and a little bit different to what you would describe as a traditional wedding. They got married at The Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds first with only their immediate families present and then went over to the Abbey Gardens for some close family pics. It was then back to The Garden Barn at Little Bradley for a larger wedding reception with lots more guests joining. Both parts of the day were just gorgeous.
I love the small, intimate ceremonies but then I also enjoy the atmosphere created when there’s a lot of people and we are a lot less noticeable.
So much about this day was beautiful, Melissa looked absolutely stunning in her fitted dress and Alistair every bit as dashing in his blue suit and dark orange bow tie. The flowers were gorgeous colours and I am a sucker for bright sunflowers! The barn was also decorated beautifully and instead of a wedding cake they had doughnuts. For the afternoon reception it was drinks, garden games and ice cream in the lovely gardens at the barn before an informal hog roast.
These two are a wonderful couple who we are certain will have a long and happy future ahead of them. Here’s a small peep at their day
