At the beginning of March I had the pleasure of spending some time with a lovely family at Southwold to celebrate an 80th Birthday. I always love family shoots and capturing the different relationships and generations.
It was a cold day but thankfully everyone braved the weather for a wander down the promenade and alongside the beach huts, a few spots of rain hit us but nothing to worry about.
With portrait sessions I’m often asked what people should wear and I always think first and foremost it should be something that you feel comfortable in. In terms of colour this is up to you as an individual, if you never ever wear colour then it may feel alien to you to wear something bright and then you’ll feel self-conscious which is never great for photos so wear things that you like (my only word of warning would be that very thin stripes and also checks can sometimes cause a funny little effect (known as moiré) to occur.
I personally love colour and the brighter the better so was delighted to see lots of bright pink for this session which really stood out against the grey of the sky and sea.
Here’s a small peep at the session for you, unfortunately a couple of the other people who attended the session weren’t keen on having their photos online so I haven’t put the gorgeous photos of all 6 of them together in the story today which is a bit of a shame as there’s some absolutely beautiful ones of them all laughing together.
