Well, apologies already as my intention was hopefully to get back to writing a blog post at least once a week but, trying to catch up on all the weddings and portraits that are happening at the moment means a lot of time out and about shooting as well as lots of time editing and so I think this may drop down to once every couple of weeks for the time being (sorry and I hope you all understand).
So, back to weddings!!!
The next wedding we photographed was Denver and Josh’s gorgeous day at the beautiful Ravenwood Hall which was at the beginning of August. There were so many things to love about their day. I especially adored the autumnal flowers and orange colour scheme which worked so well (and it meant their flowers had dahlia’s in which I love seeing!). Also, instead of a wedding cake, they had a tower of doughnuts (I may have to go and have a snack now looking at the photos of these). The bride and bridesmaids hair was done by the amazing Karen at Karen’s Beautiful Brides who we love working alongside and she always does a fantastic job. Weatherwise, we were predicted thunderstorms and heavy showers for their afternoon wedding but thankfully, we were lucky with the weather again and they passed us by.
I started my day with Denver getting ready at Ravenwood whilst David started with Josh getting ready at The Premier Inn in Bury. Ravenwood Hall has the option for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies but Denver and Josh had always said they wanted an indoor ceremony (regardless of the weather) and the room looked beautiful. After the ceremony, we went outside for drinks, canapes, mingling, some formal groups and their couple photos.
Denver and Josh had organised (alongside the videographer) pink smoke bombs for some of their photos (just so you don’t think the woods were on fire when you look at the photos below) and they wanted to use the wooded and natural areas as a priority for their couple photos. Ravenwood has some beautiful, old, massive trees that I love using in photos but, due to Covid the venue now has a permanent marquee, vintage vehicles, and other things in this area, thankfully, with a little reworking of angles though we still got the gorgeous big tree in some photos.
Speeches were before the meal and they were awesome and very funny. We left before the meal for this day but, we’re certain the evening would have been every bit as fun.
Denver’s dress was gorgeous and she looked absolutely stunning in it. Josh looked every bit as handsome and his suit had some unique finishing touches to it (see the photos to see the embroidery!).
These two are a lovely couple and we wish them a lifetime of happiness together, here’s just a small peep at their day x
