At the beginning of October we got to go back to one of our favourite wedding venues to work at (the stunning Haughley Park Barn) for Kate and Ben’s Wedding. This was a wonderful day to be a part of and despite the heavy rain I had one very brave bride and groom (and set of guests) who willingly and happily embraced the weather. I think that just goes to show how much Kate and Ben are adored by their friends and family that they all came out in the rain for photos!
I always think that everyone deals with bad weather differently and I always feel so happy when my brides and grooms are as brave as Kate and Ben and basically say ‘ happy to do whatever you want’ just so they have photos. Yes, Kate’s dress did get a little muddy but it will clean and the photos they now have they will look back on for a lifetime. I think that’s worth getting a little bit rained on for!
Kate and Ben are such a happy and relaxed couple (just an example of this was one of the bridesmaids dresses zip broke during the getting ready, most brides potentially would have had a melt down at this stage but Kate stayed calm and we just sewed the bridesmaid into her dress … disaster averted!) that I knew that the rain wouldn’t be an issue for them and we even got some great evening light (and dry weather) unexpectedly later in the day for a trip to the kitchen garden.
The food for this day was so scrummy but I would expect nothing less when the fabulous Tina and her staff at Crossways Farm Catering are doing it … Pie … mmmmm …. trio of dessert … double mmmmm!!!!
I could talk about these lovely two and their day for quite a while but I think the best thing to do may be to share the photos with you instead. Here’s a few for you to look at and I’ll write up their very lovely thank you note in a separate post (I’m still a bit behind with the thank you posts but I’ll get there):
