Our last July wedding we photographed was a stonker of a day which was Dani and James’ wedding at Kelsale Church and Bruisyard Hall. We both started off with them getting ready in the main hall at Bruisyard and everything was very calm and chilled. They then went on for their ceremony at Kelsale Church. The ceremony itself was lovely but as always we are both very frustrated when Vicar’s refuse to let us take photos other than the coming in and going out (plus I set a kissing one up afterwards so they would have one and took a couple of cheeky ones during a hymn). This is even harder to understand a Vicar’s reasoning (often we get told they are protecting the sanctity of the church and marriage) when the videographers are given permission and are fine to shoot. Still we have to go with what those conducting the ceremonies say. I don’t know what Vicar’s think we will do during the service but we honestly stay put, shoot without flash and don’t interrupt anything (rant over for now!). Please therefore be aware if you are considering Kelsale church for your ceremony that photos are currently not allowed! Dani and James however took this in their stride and weren’t too worried which was great.
After the ceremony we did some bubble confetti before heading back to Bruisyard Hall where the heavens opened. Thankfully the shower only lasted 20 minutes or so and then we whipped them all outside for photos in the beautiful grounds. As the forecast for the entire day and evening was two spots (according to the BBC) of rain we felt incredibly lucky for this break in the weather. Whoever was watching over us we felt very grateful and the rain started again just as we came in for speeches once all the outdoor photos were done! Dani and James are a very smiley, happy and relaxed couple and photographing them was just a joy. Their guests and family were all lovely to us and we enjoyed every minute of this day. We worked with two new videographers to us (Ellie and Rich) at VT films who were fab and we can’t wait to see what they’ve produced.
The barn at Bruisyard looked stunning and Dani and James had made over 1000 paper origami cranes to decorate it which looked amazing. Rhea and all the staff at Bruisyard were very helpful and ensured that the day ran smoothly.
Dani looked radiantly beautiful and James every bit as dashing, these two make a wonderful couple who we’re certain will have many happy years ahead of them.
I could talk about this day for far to long and if we’d have been allowed to take photos during the ceremony then this wedding would have certainly been one of our new samples that we show to couples – instead we’ll put loads of these on our website over the winter months as well as in a new Bruisyard Gallery!
Here’s a selection from their day for you to all have a look at!
