At the very beginning of November on a cold and drizzly day we photographed the lovely Katie and Jacob at their wedding at Bressingham High Barn. This was the first wedding that Bressingham High Barn have done since their venue opened and this certainly will be a leading venue in our region as it becomes more well known. We have visited Bressingham Gardens numerous times over the years and they are always stunning in all seasons, the prospect of photographing couples in these gorgeous gardens just has so much potential and scope that we can’t wait to photograph some more here.
We both started at the House (which you can hire on site at Bressingham) for the getting ready. I started as always with the girls whilst David started with the boys. It was then a short walk over to the barn for the ceremony. With new venues you always expect a few teething problems whilst they find their feet but Sam at the venue was brilliant and everything ran very smoothly. Our biggest issue of the day was the conducting registrar not arriving and being 45 minutes late (which with a late autumn wedding and dwindling light on a grey day isn’t good) which did impact on the timings for the rest of the day. Still, Katie and Jacob took it all in their stride and were blissfully happy throughout the day. This was a small and intimate wedding which was a treat to be a part of and it was so nice that Jacob’s family could come over from America to join us (one of his sisters even watched the ceremony via Skype/Facetime).
There were lots of lovely finishing touches and they even had a painter called Stephanie Struth come and do an oil painting of them in the garden which was very unusual and the results were stunning. What a talented lady! We also had groomsmen games in the evening which is something we haven’t seen before and certainly lead to a lot of giggling and fun!
Katie looked beautiful in her fitted dress and purple shoes (to match the colour scheme) whilst Jacob was every bit her dashing prince charming! It is clear to see they adore each other and we’re certain that they’ll have a long and happy marriage ahead of them.
Here’s a very small selection from their day for you to peep at
