Ruth and Mat’s wedding was the next gorgeous day we got to be a part of. They had their ceremony at Great Bealings Church followed by their reception at All Manor of Events. The weather forecast for this day sadly wasn’t good but despite a lot of drizzly rain on and off all day we still managed to get outside and dodge the showers.
I started the day joining Ruth getting ready and to my surprise was greeted by an Indian Runner Duck called Tess who had been bought for them by Ruth’s brother as a wedding present … I must say I’ve never seen a live duck given as a present before! I should really refer to Ruth and Mat from now on as Lord and Lady as their bridesmaids had bought them some land and titles as a wedding gift, both quirky and funny!
Sometimes when it rains I know brides and groom’s can worry a lot but it didn’t phase Ruth and Mat at all and in many ways by everyone being in a smaller area together the guests seem to mingle and laugh a lot more which is great rather than drifting off into sub groups. Ruth had the most unusual dried flower arrangement for her bouquet (and the bridesmaids bouquets which was another first for us) and it kept the flowers a lot lighter than traditional bouquets as well as keeping the rustic feel they wanted perfectly.
Ruth looked beautiful and elegant in her dress whilst Mat complimented her looking every bit as handsome in his suit with his pocket fob watch. This was a brilliant day with happy and welcoming friends and family. Ruth and Mat are quite clearly adored by so many people and it’s easy to see why as they’re lovely. We wish them many happy years ahead of them and hope that they’ll stay in touch with us and that we’ll continue to follow their story.
