• Welcome

Well hello there and welcome to Hayley Denston Photography. We are Suffolk Wedding Photographers who live in a little village on the Suffolk/Norfolk Border. We travel as far and wide as we can to photograph weddings although we mainly photograph weddings in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. Our fingers are crossed that you've either found us through a personal recommendation or whilst looking for a wedding photographer in Suffolk, Norfolk or Essex. If not, perhaps you were simply having a browse for a Suffolk portrait photographer (as we do that too) or even just Suffolk wedding photography.

However you've arrived at our website we're pleased you're here and hope that you've got a few minutes (together with a cuppa and a biscuit) to have a look through our photos. We hope that you love what you see and that we'll get to meet and photograph you in the future.

A quick post today to let you know of a couple of wedding shows we’ll be attending in the next month in case you’re still in search of your perfect wedding photographers and fancy coming along to meet us and see what we can offer you. The first wedding show we’ll be attending is The Suffolk Wedding Show at Wherstead Park and then the Sunday after that we’ll be at The Suffolk Wedding Showcase at Haughley Park Barn.

On both days we’ll be there with all the books and albums and on hand to chat with you about your day to see if we may be the perfect fit for you and your day. I’ll post some reminders about the shows nearer the time but here are some brief details and the dates for your diaries!

Sunday 24th February 2019

The Suffolk Wedding Show – Wherstead Park, Wherstead, IP9 2BJ

10.30am-3.00pm

We will be in the marquee where you register

Free Admission

This show is always a good one to attend as you can view so many different suppliers all in one place. There are usually 70+ exhibitors for you to have a look at and there are always plenty of different photographers at this event so you can find a style to suit you perfectly!

The following weekend we are at Haughley Park Barn as follows:

Sunday 3rd March 2019

The Suffolk Wedding Showcase at Haughley Park Barn, Haughley, IP14 3JY

10.30am – 4.00pm

Free Admission

Last year was the first time this showcase was launched at Haughley Park Barn and it was a resounding success. It’s lovely that you can also view Haughley Park Barn as a venue (and as those of you who read the blog regularly know this is our favourite venue to work at) as well as meeting lots of the suppliers who are recommended by this venue and know it well. As this is our favourite venue we hope to meet lots of you who have already booked Haughley for your days and are now potentially looking for your photographers (fingers crossed we may be the perfect fit)!

At all the shows we attend we are always delighted to see and talk to so many people. Please don’t be shy, we’d love to have a chat with you about your day even if you don’t have many details yet or are newly engaged and just at the start of your wedding planning. We’ll always try our best to answer any questions you may have and hopefully, if you have your date already, we’ll check our calendar and hopefully be available to photograph your day. We also love seeing past clients and those who’ve already booked us for their days so if you do fall into this category and are attending one of the shows please do still pop over and say hi.

If you can’t make either of these Sundays please don’t worry though there’s plenty here on our website for you to look at and we can also arrange meetings at other times to get together where you can see everything.

We look forward to meeting and chatting to lots of you soon as well as hopefully photographing lots of your weddings.

Apologies that we’ve been a little quiet on here lately and I intend to rectify that immediately by at least one blog post a week! We haven’t started the year in the best way both coming down with one of those nasty cough/cold bugs going around but 3 weeks on and fingers crossed (as well as touching lots of wood) we’re over the worst of it and not feeling quite so ‘zombiefied’.

As many of you who read this regularly know we sadly lost our beloved dog Pip last May after a short illness and we were both completely heartbroken. We still miss her daily but it wouldn’t have felt right to us to not add some new paws into our lives again. So, at the end of November once our wedding season for the year was over, we welcomed into our home a lovely little rescue dog who was very much in need of our home and he was transported all the way from Romania to be with us from a wonderful charity called Noah’s Ark  (if you’re looking for a rescue please consider the dogs and pups on here).

I know there are a lot of different opinions out there on taking on dogs from abroad and ‘rescuing over buying breeds’ and I’m happy to discuss these in more length with anyone who wants to but, for us personally the choice was very clear, we wanted to give an older dog a chance who had been overlooked and whose future would be incredibly bleak otherwise. As soon as we saw photos and videos of our little lad we knew we wanted him to be a part of our lives and although the journey so far hasn’t been easy (he has never lived in a house before, is very frightened by new situations and has severe separation anxiety) he is such an affectionate and loving little boy it makes our hearts smile again and we’re certain he’ll get there in time.

So, without further ado I’d like you all to meet our little lad Ansel who’s nearly 15 months old, just growing eyebrows (like an old man’s) and settling in making himself very much a part of our lives. I’m certain they’ll be many more photos of him on here and updates to the website over the next few months for all of you who are interested in seeing more of him (apologies that some of the photos are low quality as they’ve all been taken on phones and a lot in low light!)

To try to get the blog as up to date as possible here’s the last fabulous wedding of 2018 for us and that was Fiona and Adam’s small and intimate day that took place at the lovely Hintlesham Hall.

This was a day that was planned many months in advance where their little boy hadn’t even been dreamt up (he was 11 months old for their wedding day) when they started their planning which just goes to show how much can change in the period running up to a wedding.

This was a wonderful day, very chilled out and relaxed with only close family attending. We’ve never photographed a wedding upstairs at Hintlesham before so that was a nice treat and it was also lovely that all the festive decorations were up getting us all in the mood for Christmas. The bauble favours on the table were a lovely finishing touch and although it was a cold day it was nice to end the season with a dry wedding.

Fiona looked absolutely radiant whilst Adam was every bit as handsome and as for their little boy …. well just see for yourselves in the photos, what a little cutie and so well behaved for such a little one!

Here’s a small selection from their magical day (if you can’t see lots of photos just click on the more button and hopefully they should all appear!)

In the middle of November we travelled up to Scotland for Suzanne and Craig’s Castle Wedding. These two are from Suffolk and decided they wanted to take some Suffolk Photographers with them which was just lovely to see some new scenery. We stayed in an awesome self-catering cottage called Bramble Cottage, and I cannot recommend this place highly enough for any of you travelling up to this neck of the woods. It was stunning and the owners were so thoughtful and kind leaving us out a welcome hamper and lots of little special touches which were very much appreciated after the long drive. We hope to go back just to stay here again!

Suzanne and Craig’s whole day took place at the beautiful Dalhousie Castle which is just outside of Edinburgh with their nearest and dearest friends and family. The ceremony took place in the castle’s chapel and we had the rings delivered by barn owl which was magical. Andrew the piper, piped all day which made their wedding even more special and they even had an owl meet and greet in the reception time. In the evening there was a Ceilidh band which got lots of their guests up and joining in. So many lovely finishing touches too which considering this day had been planned from Suffolk were incredible to get them all coming together so well. It was so nice to photograph this small, intimate wedding and to be a part of this day.

Suzanne looked every bit the fairytale princess in her gorgeous dress whilst Craig was her dashing prince charming!

It was really hard to narrow down a selection of favourites to go on here from their day but here it goes (if you can’t see lots of their photos and want to take a peek just click where it says more!) x
