• Welcome

Well hello there and welcome to Hayley Denston Photography. We are Suffolk Wedding Photographers who live in a little village on the Suffolk/Norfolk Border. We travel as far and wide as we can to photograph weddings although we mainly photograph weddings in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. Our fingers are crossed that you've either found us through a personal recommendation or whilst looking for a wedding photographer in Suffolk, Norfolk or Essex. If not, perhaps you were simply having a browse for a Suffolk portrait photographer (as we do that too) or even just Suffolk wedding photography.

However you've arrived at our website we're pleased you're here and hope that you've got a few minutes (together with a cuppa and a biscuit) to have a look through our photos. We hope that you love what you see and that we'll get to meet and photograph you in the future.

Our next wedding was the gorgeous Belinda and James’ day which took place at Whitton Church followed by their reception at Greshams in Ipswich. Ever since we first met Belinda and her parents we knew that we were going to love being a part of this day as they were such a happy bunch of people. As James is in the Army we didn’t get to meet him until this year but when we did and we talked through their day with them we couldn’t wait for this day to get here. It was a beautiful day and it was clear for everyone to see how in love Belinda and James are and how special and important they are to their friends and family.

We were lucky with the weather and although it was mainly overcast it didn’t rain which was lovely. So much time and effort had gone into the finishing touches. James had made all the buttonholes and bouquet and the most incredible cufflinks (I’m sure he could make a career out of making cufflinks if he ever leaves the Army). The cake had two sides to it (you’ll have to look through the photos as I don’t want to spoil it) to reflect both James and Belinda and was very quirky! The bridesmaids were in gorgeous yellow hues, James was in his ‘ones’ (I may have got that wrong but it’s how I heard it …. I think it means smart Army dress or if not that’s what I took it to mean!) and looked very handsome and Belinda just looked beautiful in her gorgeous fitted dress.

Every bit about this day was a joy and thank you to all of you for making us so welcome. We know that Belinda and James will have many happy years ahead of them and we wish them a lifetime of happiness together. We just wish we could have this day all over again and we really hope that you two will stay in touch with all your future news

Our last April wedding to share with you was Nikki and James’ day that took place at Boyton Church and Woodhall Manor. This was a glorious day, bright and sunny even though it was a tad windy and cool. I started with Nikki getting ready at Woodhall and David started with James and the boys at the local pub. Nikki arrived at the church with her dad in her dad’s kit car which was very special. Their ceremony was then at the beautiful Boyton church and we were lucky enough to have some gorgeous bluebells out in the churchyard for some photos.

Nikki and James wanted their day to be as relaxed and informal as possible and to reflect the East Anglian countryside and atmosphere. On arrival back at Woodhall Manor afternoon tea was awaiting the guests which looked scrumptious. As there is a slightly sheltered area round the back of Woodhall many guests enjoyed their afternoon tea outside but for those not wanting to venture out in the cold there were lots of indoor games and rooms to choose from. We then went over to the other building for their wedding breakfast which was an East Anglian feast (lots of goodies from East Anglia including a fish and chip supper and ice cream). They did their cake cutting before the meal (lots of homemade cakes) and then speeches also beforehand and even Nikki stood up and said a few words!

Nikki had one of the most different wedding dresses I’ve ever seen, it was a two piece dress (so top and skirt) and it fitted her perfectly. James wore a smart blue suit and we again saw grape hyacinths as buttonholes which I loved!

Nikki and James are a couple who don’t post a lot online and so I am honoured that they’ve allowed me to share these few photos with you … enjoy

Wow, I’m excited to share with you Emma and Lee’s wedding which ended off our April Weddings in style. Emma and Lee had their entire wedding at the stunning Hengrave Hall which is one of our most impressive wedding venues (in our opinion) in Suffolk. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day … warm, sunny weather that blessed us all day. Emma and Lee had booked us such a very long time ago for their day and so it was one we’d been looking forward to for a long time and we were so delighted when it got here.

So much time and planning had gone into all the finishing touches from the cotton handkerchiefs that were handed to guests before the ceremony, to an outdoor DJ (the fantastic Paul at Dreamwave Events) , a creche for the children and a magician to keep the adults entertained. Inside they had a cheese table and a separate sweets one and even the sweet colours matched in with their blue colour scheme.

Emma and Lee have three gorgeous children, Lee’s daughter Holly who was our flowergirl and their two little boys (Charlie and Freddie). The children were so good all day and it was a joy to photograph your family.

Emma’s dress was in a 1920’s style and she looked a timeless beauty in it … as it was completely beaded it was also very heavy so I don’t quite know how Emma managed to walk around so effortlessly and graceful in it all day but she did! Lee was her dashing prince charming in his dapper navy suit. The flowers were done by the very talented Rachel at The English Rose Florists and although they were simple displays of roses, stocks and hydrangeas they looked perfect for this day.

The evening was topped off with some fireworks which was a great end to a wonderful day.

Emma and Lee are such a lovely couple and their day reflecting them so well, I could share so many from this day that it was hard just to choose a selection but here’s a quick overview for you to have a look at

In the middle of April we photographed the very lovely Karen and Neil at their wedding at Haughley Park Barn. Their entire day took place at Haughley Park Barn and whilst the weather wasn’t great for us (it rained all day) everyone still had a wonderful, happy day. Ellie at Haughley kindly also let us use their main house for my couple photos as with Karen’s dress being long we would have wicked up a lot of water and got her very muddy if we’d have tried to stay outside.

This was a wedding we’d been looking forward to for a very long time and it was a day that didn’t disappoint. Karen and Neil are such a relaxed and happy couple it’s just a pleasure to be around them. They also had their dog Cliffy at the wedding so it was nice to get him in some of the photos too. Their niece and nephew were the pageboy and flowergirl and they were really cute especially when they walked up the aisle first together holding hands!

Karen’s dress was unusual (we’ve seen a lot of lace fitted dresses over the last year but these last few weddings have all been completely different which is lovely to see) and she looked stunning in it. It was lots of floaty material with enough sparkle to make it pretty but not blingy if that makes sense! Neil looked equally handsome with some lovely finishing touches and the grape hyacinths in his buttonhole were perfect for their spring day.

Karen’s sister made the cake and boy did it smell fantastic … it’s a shame we left at the cake cutting before the time for eating it came as I’m sure it would have tasted as good as it smelt!

Karen and Neil are such a well suited couple that we can imagine nothing but a lifetime of very happy times ahead of them. We really hope that our paths will cross again at some point in the future.

Here’s a small selection of photos from their day for you all to have a quick peep at.

For those of you who are still searching for your wedding venue in Suffolk you may want to consider the gorgeous Finborough Hall. This is a new wedding venue for our region and they will be taking bookings for 2017 onwards, I’ve been for a peep around and it looks like it’ll be stunning.

We are delighted to be one of their recommended suppliers and hope to photograph there at many weddings next year.

They are holding their first open day on the 22nd May for couples to go and have a look around so why not go and have a look if you’re free and see if it may work perfectly for your day. They will also be having a wedding fair later in the autumn. As soon as we photograph there I’ll pop some photos on here for you all to have a look at!
