• Welcome

Well hello there and welcome to Hayley Denston Photography. We are Suffolk Wedding Photographers who live in a little village on the Suffolk/Norfolk Border. We travel as far and wide as we can to photograph weddings although we mainly photograph weddings in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. Our fingers are crossed that you've either found us through a personal recommendation or whilst looking for a wedding photographer in Suffolk, Norfolk or Essex. If not, perhaps you were simply having a browse for a Suffolk portrait photographer (as we do that too) or even just Suffolk wedding photography.

However you've arrived at our website we're pleased you're here and hope that you've got a few minutes (together with a cuppa and a biscuit) to have a look through our photos. We hope that you love what you see and that we'll get to meet and photograph you in the future.

Wow, I’m excited to share with you Emma and Lee’s wedding which ended off our April Weddings in style. Emma and Lee had their entire wedding at the stunning Hengrave Hall which is one of our most impressive wedding venues (in our opinion) in Suffolk. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer day … warm, sunny weather that blessed us all day. Emma and Lee had booked us such a very long time ago for their day and so it was one we’d been looking forward to for a long time and we were so delighted when it got here.

So much time and planning had gone into all the finishing touches from the cotton handkerchiefs that were handed to guests before the ceremony, to an outdoor DJ (the fantastic Paul at Dreamwave Events) , a creche for the children and a magician to keep the adults entertained. Inside they had a cheese table and a separate sweets one and even the sweet colours matched in with their blue colour scheme.

Emma and Lee have three gorgeous children, Lee’s daughter Holly who was our flowergirl and their two little boys (Charlie and Freddie). The children were so good all day and it was a joy to photograph your family.

Emma’s dress was in a 1920’s style and she looked a timeless beauty in it … as it was completely beaded it was also very heavy so I don’t quite know how Emma managed to walk around so effortlessly and graceful in it all day but she did! Lee was her dashing prince charming in his dapper navy suit. The flowers were done by the very talented Rachel at The English Rose Florists and although they were simple displays of roses, stocks and hydrangeas they looked perfect for this day.

The evening was topped off with some fireworks which was a great end to a wonderful day.

Emma and Lee are such a lovely couple and their day reflecting them so well, I could share so many from this day that it was hard just to choose a selection but here’s a quick overview for you to have a look at

In the middle of April we photographed the very lovely Karen and Neil at their wedding at Haughley Park Barn. Their entire day took place at Haughley Park Barn and whilst the weather wasn’t great for us (it rained all day) everyone still had a wonderful, happy day. Ellie at Haughley kindly also let us use their main house for my couple photos as with Karen’s dress being long we would have wicked up a lot of water and got her very muddy if we’d have tried to stay outside.

This was a wedding we’d been looking forward to for a very long time and it was a day that didn’t disappoint. Karen and Neil are such a relaxed and happy couple it’s just a pleasure to be around them. They also had their dog Cliffy at the wedding so it was nice to get him in some of the photos too. Their niece and nephew were the pageboy and flowergirl and they were really cute especially when they walked up the aisle first together holding hands!

Karen’s dress was unusual (we’ve seen a lot of lace fitted dresses over the last year but these last few weddings have all been completely different which is lovely to see) and she looked stunning in it. It was lots of floaty material with enough sparkle to make it pretty but not blingy if that makes sense! Neil looked equally handsome with some lovely finishing touches and the grape hyacinths in his buttonhole were perfect for their spring day.

Karen’s sister made the cake and boy did it smell fantastic … it’s a shame we left at the cake cutting before the time for eating it came as I’m sure it would have tasted as good as it smelt!

Karen and Neil are such a well suited couple that we can imagine nothing but a lifetime of very happy times ahead of them. We really hope that our paths will cross again at some point in the future.

Here’s a small selection of photos from their day for you all to have a quick peep at.

For those of you who are still searching for your wedding venue in Suffolk you may want to consider the gorgeous Finborough Hall. This is a new wedding venue for our region and they will be taking bookings for 2017 onwards, I’ve been for a peep around and it looks like it’ll be stunning.

We are delighted to be one of their recommended suppliers and hope to photograph there at many weddings next year.

They are holding their first open day on the 22nd May for couples to go and have a look around so why not go and have a look if you’re free and see if it may work perfectly for your day. They will also be having a wedding fair later in the autumn. As soon as we photograph there I’ll pop some photos on here for you all to have a look at!

Our next wedding was at Thorpeness Country Club for the fantastic Sarah and Simon’s day. The weather forecast for this day was not good (and I mean double spot of rain on the BBC weather app all afternoon!) but they thankfully got it wrong and we were outside for all of their reception time! The sun even shone on us and we saw lots of blue sky for much of their day and the storm clouds look really dramatic in their beach photos.

This was another beautiful wedding for us, so much bunting and rustic vintage flowers (by the fabulously talented Rachel at The English Rose Florists) with the most delicious fringe tulips. On each of the tables the name places had a polaroid photo of each guest (a quirky take on name places) and there were jam jars of flowers everywhere. We worked with Lorraine at Thorpeness Country Club who was brilliant and everything ran smoothly with no hitches! The bridesmaids had the most unusual and flattering lilac floral dresses – I know that doesn’t sound that nice but if you have a look through the photos below you’ll see them. I thought they were very beautiful and the girls looked fabulous in them.

It is always a treat when we photograph couples like Sarah and Simon who are so relaxed about their photos that they allow us to see what is happening on the day and just capture it which in my opinion always leads to the best photos and very many happy memories for them to look back on.

Both Sarah and Simon looked stunning. Sarah wore a beautiful fitted lace dress and Simon a dashing blue suit with purple waistcoat and a Liberty print floral tie.

A few days after their wedding (and before seeing their photos) Sarah sent me this lovely e-mail which I’m sure she won’t mind me sharing:

‘Hi Hayley,

Just a little e-mail to say thank you for being our phtographers last week. Without you I’m sure we wouldn’t have known what to do when, it was great to have you there to reassure and guide us! Everyone we have spoken to has mentioned how great you and David were, and so nice to have around. We look forward to seeing the photos in a few weeks.

Love

Sarah and Simon’

It means a lot to us to get such wonderful feedback.

So here’s what you’ve all been waiting for and a small peep of the photos from their day

At the very beginning of April we photographed Hayley and Phil at their beautiful wedding at Easton Grange. I started with Hayley and her bridesmaids getting ready at The Crown in Framlingham and David started with Phil and the boys getting ready at Easton Grange.

Easton Grange is a beautiful wedding venue and it was great to work with Carrie who was in charge for the day and fab. Easton Grange is a unique wedding venue in that it has two big barns (one for the ceremony and one for the wedding breakfast) where even if the weather isn’t on your side everything is connected so there’s no need to go outside if you don’t want to. As it wasn’t the warmest of days this was lovely that guests could mingle indoors whilst looking out across the meadows and river. We still managed to pop out though for Hayley and Phil’s photos and for a few groups and confetti!

Hayley and Phil are a relaxed and sweet couple who were a pleasure to photograph and we’re delighted they chose us to share in their day. The finishing touches to the barns were gorgeous and I loved the PomPoms everywhere. The food was yummy and we got a starter platter which was unexpected and very tasty – David says ‘they are the best scotch eggs he’s ever had’ and from someone who likes Scotch eggs that’s high praise indeed! Their cake was made by Helen at Amelie’s Kitchen and as always Helen had done an incredible job, that was one very beautiful cake and I’m sure it tasted yummy too! They had a gentleman playing vintage records for the ceremony and reception who was quirky and fun (I never took his details but if Hayley and Phil can kindly give me them I’d thoroughly recommend him). In the evening Hayley’s choir sang and Hayley joined in with the singing and they even played on kazoos! My Big Fat Disco did the evening set up and the crates and lighting were beautiful.

Hayley looked stunning in her fitted lace dress and Phil was every bit her dashing prince in his navy suit.
