Our first June wedding we photographed was Charlotte and Alex’s day and what a corker of a day it was. We had a beautiful, sunny day with so many gorgeous finishing touches. I started with Charlotte and the girls getting ready at The Stables at Henham Park whilst David started with the boys over at the Farmhouse behind the barns. We then went on to Pakefield Church overlooking the sea for the ceremony … slightly sad there was scaffolding at the church but unfortunately there’s not a lot you can do about this (and we’ve seen a lot of scaffolding at churches this year), it was still a stunning location for a church and I can see why lots of couples would choose this church to get married in (although it was our first ever visit to this church). The vicar was lovely and let me stand at the front whilst David was at the back during the service. Both Charlotte and Alex play hockey and they came back down the aisle under lots of colourful, ribboned hockey sticks.
Anyone who knows me knows that I have a real soft spot for rainbow and bright colours so I was especially taken with the colour scheme for this day which was just vibrant and gorgeous … you’ll see what I mean in the photos!
After the church we then went back to the beautiful Henham Park barns for the reception. The barn looked exquisite and a special mention to the cake and the cake stand made by family members (all awesome as these were fabulous) and some fantastic floral hoops (again made by a family member I believe). The spanish food and Paella’s were scrummy and a different take on a traditional wedding breakfast. Speeches were really funny (and with three bestmen all of them stepped up to the mark and delivered excellent speeches) and the evening just lovely and chilled.
We even took a golf buggy down to the bridge with them for a few photos (where people come across for Latitude Festival) just to round off a stonking day!
Charlotte looked so beautiful in her fitted dress and Alex every bit as handsome in his blue tweedy suit. They are a really well suited, happy couple who we are certain will have many years of happiness ahead of them.
I could talk about this day for hours but for now, here are some photos for you all to have a peep at
