• Welcome

Well hello there and welcome to Hayley Denston Photography. We are Suffolk Wedding Photographers who live in a little village on the Suffolk/Norfolk Border. We travel as far and wide as we can to photograph weddings although we mainly photograph weddings in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. Our fingers are crossed that you've either found us through a personal recommendation or whilst looking for a wedding photographer in Suffolk, Norfolk or Essex. If not, perhaps you were simply having a browse for a Suffolk portrait photographer (as we do that too) or even just Suffolk wedding photography.

However you've arrived at our website we're pleased you're here and hope that you've got a few minutes (together with a cuppa and a biscuit) to have a look through our photos. We hope that you love what you see and that we'll get to meet and photograph you in the future.

Earlier in the year I did some posts on ideas for Buttonholes and Bridal Bouquets, here’s some inspiration for flowers at your ceremony and venue.

Most churches and venues we see still are decorated with flowers of some kind. It used to be just one traditional centrepiece we’d see on each table but these days, people have all sorts of fascinating and wonderful ideas. Here’s just a small selection from the traditional to very contemporary to hopefully give you some inspiration

Our congratulations this weekend are for Vicky and Tim who are celebrating their first wedding anniversary. What a stunning day yours was last year with your ceremony at The Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds followed by your reception at St Peter’s Brewery. We’ll never forget your first dance outside and on a bouncy castle!

We hope you two get to celebrate this special occasion and if you’d like to read about their day just click here

To start our May weddings off we photographed the beautiful Emma and Emma at their wedding at home. They both got ready separately and when they saw each other for the first time it was so sweet. They had decided to have a late ceremony at the beautiful Otley Hall and wanted to get as many of their formal groups done before they got married which is unusual and we’ve never done this before but I love the idea of getting these out the way so you can just enjoy yourselves!

The weather again wasn’t on our side (there seems to have been a lot of that this year) but we just came in and out of the hall between rain showers. I adore their confetti photos as well as those of just the two of them. We’re really grateful to them both for letting us share their day on here as they are a private couple and weren’t sure initially but after seeing their photos kindly gave us the green light to write a blog story up.

Both Emma’s looked beautiful in their dresses. One had bright blue shoes whilst the other one had rainbow ribbons in hers.

This was a stunning day to be a part of and we are sure these two have a long and happy marriage ahead of them supported by some lovely friends and family. We really hope our paths will cross again with them in the future.

Here’s a little peep at their day

To end our April weddings this year we photographed the gorgeous Michaela and Chris. I started with Michaela getting ready at home whilst David started with the boys getting ready at Hungarian Hall where the ceremony would take place. Unfortunately, we had storm Hannah coming through and so due to the high winds and rain they sadly couldn’t have the outdoor ceremony they had hoped for but I personally don’t think it impacted on the happiness of this day at all. After the ceremony we still took photos outside before going on to Ferry Farm, Haddon where Chris (who’s part of Anglian Coastal Marquees) had set up the most stunning Marquee.

We had a Prosecco Bike and canapees inside the marquee (done by the fabulous Jamie Lee Catering) whilst the children had a separate area of the marquee with a brilliant children’s entertainer to keep them happy and a bouncy castle outside. Then there was a street food area (again food by Jamie Lee) with lots of different festival style foods to eat for the wedding breakfast.

In the evening we had a Bucking Bronco, Ice Cream bike and a small break in the rain to get outside …. I love the stormy skies in their photos here even if it wasn’t the sunset we were initially hoping for.

Michaela and Chris are a beautiful couple with two gorgeous children who were a pleasure to be around (a reflection of what great parents they are too). Michaela looked stunning in her fitted dress and Chris every bit as handsome in his suit with his stripey socks and bow tie!

Here’s just a little peep at their fabulous day

A short post today on wedding shoes and socks that can be different to your traditional bridal shoes.

We get to see lots of lovely shoes and socks at wedding days and I’m always fascinated how we don’t seem to see the same shoes twice. For those of you looking for something a little less traditional here are a few ideas starting off with a sixpence in your shoe and slippers in the morning!
