A quick post today to update you all on our Christmas opening times and to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. This year we are not working over the Christmas period (we try to keep every other year just for us and friends and family) so will be closed from the 24th December through to the 4th January.
If you need us urgently please do call and leave a message or send us an e-mail and we will get back to you as soon as we can. If your message isn’t urgent we will reply fully when we’re back on the 4th.
A big thank you to all of you who we’ve photographed this year, it wouldn’t have been such a wonderful year without you and we’ve enjoyed every minute of sharing in your wedding days and portrait sessions. As another year is coming to a close we’ll be looking back on this years weddings and choosing our favourites to add to the galleries early on in the New Year. We’ll also be looking forward to all the brilliant weddings (and portraits) we’ve got planned in the diary for 2016 and 2017!
As those of you who read the blog regularly will know we have a border collie called Pip who we dress up in various hats throughout the year as lots of you ask after her. This year I am in a quandary as to whether to post her Christmas photo as the RSPCA have just decided in the last couple of days that they may start prosecuting pet owners who dress their pets up on the basis of cruelty! This is a very contentious issue for me as I personally believe dressing Pip up in a Christmas jumper and santa hat (or a birthday hat and bunny ears) for the purpose of photos (they are only on her for a matter of seconds and a couple of minutes at most) causes her no distress what-so-ever. If Pip was unhappy she certainly is a dog who would demonstrate it! It is all the more irritating as my mum knitted her the sweetest little outfit ready for this years pic! We even thought about getting Pip to put her paw print on a disclaimer saying ‘no animal was harmed in the taking of this photo’ but we thought the RSPCA (if they read it) may not see the funny side! I’ve realised I could rant quite a bit on this as I don’t think the RSPCA should be chasing up owners who clearly adore their pets and take good care of them. I have therefore decided despite what I’ve read to post the photo of her in her Christmas jumper and have ‘photoshopped’ in the hat (apparently the most stress inducing part of the outfit)!
May we also take this opportunity just to once again thank all of you who chose us to be a part of your wedding days and portrait sessions this year and to thank you to all of you who’ve chosen us to photograph your future weddings and portraits. We wouldn’t be where we are today without all of you and we are truly grateful.
From the three of us here MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone and we hope to see you soon!
