Our next brilliant wedding was the much anticipated wedding day of Jo and Nic. From the minute we met Jo (and her bridesmaid Laura) at The Suffolk Wedding Show we knew that this day would be one which we’d love to photograph so we were thrilled when they booked us for their day. Their ceremony took place at the stunning church in Woolpit (many thanks to Ruth the vicar who we’ve worked with before and is always fab in letting us take lots of photos as well as delivering a personal and sweet sermon) followed by their reception at the amazing Haughley Park Barn
For those of you who read the blog regularly I had already photographed the lovely Jo and Nic up at Haughley earlier in the year when the bluebells were in flower so I was extra excited about their day after all that they’d told me. The shire horses they booked for their horse and carriage were so majestic (and a lot bigger than your normal horses) I couldn’t help but take lots of photos with them in. So much time and effort went in to all the planning that all the details were so well thought out and the barn looked incredible. The flowers had a Midsummer Nights Dream theme and Rachel at The English Rose Florists as always had done a marvellous job, I especially loved the giant poppy seed heads! The weather for this wedding in all honesty wasn’t brilliant but we dodged the showers and they managed to have their reception outside and enjoy the grounds that Haughley has to offer, it certainly didn’t dampen the day at all.
Jo looked sublime and elegant in her silk dress whilst Nick looked every bit the dashing husband! They had the biggest and yummiest looking cake I think we have ever seen (as I mentioned in a previous post) and Nic made the cake stand. Dreamwave events did the disco in the evening and Jo and Nic’s second song (Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses) saw the guests moshing and thoroughly enjoying themselves – this disco rocked!
I could talk about this day for hours … here’s a selection for those of you wanting to peep at their day
