A couple of weeks ago on a cold February afternoon we had the pleasure of photographing the gorgeous Harriet and Elliott at Woodhall Manor. This was a day I’d been looking forward to for a very long time for so many reasons and although secretly we were all wishing for snow (alas it didn’t arrive) we still had a beautifully sunny winters day to work with. Harriet and Elliott’s entire day took place at Woodhall Manor and you couldn’t wish for nicer people to have been around.
There were so many beautiful finishing touches that made this day special. Harriet’s mum did the flowers over in the main room for their wedding breakfast and they were a gorgeous mix of winter flowers in terracotta pots and bell jars. Harriet and Elliott made their wedding favours of chutney and sloe gin and the gorgeous rich red colours complimented their colour scheme perfectly. Their cake was vintage inspired (made by the very talented Jean at Amazing Cakes by Jean) which was simple and elegant (and I’m sure it tasted fab as it smelt heavenly!). The photos of those no longer with us on their card table … in fact I should stop there otherwise this list will be very long, needless to say a lot of thought and planning went into this day and it showed.
We’ve photographed at Woodhall Manor many times before but I’ve never seen the main dining room at Woodhall set up with a horseshoe arrangement of tables (instead of round ones) and wow, it looked stunning!
I started with Harriet and her bridesmaids getting ready in the secret room whilst the brilliant Sadie (who was photographing with me for this one) started with Elliott and the boys. Their ceremony took place in the Bishop’s Room in the Main Hall and then we had drinks in the bar before nipping outside to do some group photos and their couple pics!
Harriet looked beautiful in her fitted lace dress, I love the feather detailing along the top, so pretty and unusual and her incredible winter bouquet (The Flower Hut) completed the look. Elliott looked every bit as dashing in his suit and the pair of them beamingly smiled all day. If you were to try to describe what a couple in love and in tune with each other would look like you’d instantly think of a couple like this, so sweet and affectionate!
We adore their photos and are delighted that they love them as much as we do. Here’s a small selection to have a look at
