At the end of March we photographed the gorgeous Gemma and Jay at their wedding at Woodhall Manor. This was one of those days that I’d been looking forward to ever since my first e-mail’s with the couple, they are so warm and friendly that it was always going to be a beautiful day to be a part of. We had very blustery weather but thankfully the rain held off until the evening so we could still nip outside for photos in the afternoon. So many things about this day were unique (which is a little unusual for us as you tend to see a lot of the same ideas in different formats at a lot of weddings). Jay’s mum made everyone a little jointed mohair teddy bear as their wedding favours and they were all stunning (she even made me one for those of you who didn’t read the previous post) and well received … she is one very talented lady … just gorgeous bears Kazzie! Gemma really wanted to bounce on the bed for some photos …. to date we’ve not had this requested before but who are we to stand in the way of some fun and so of course we took some photos of this!
Then there was Jay’s suit. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a groom in maroon …. very dashing and retro and complimented their colour scheme perfectly … a brave move to go a little different but well worth it. Gemma looked stunning in her lace fitted dress and they both beamed huge smiles all day.
We got to work again with the fabulous Steve (Steve Hood Weddings) who did their video and the preview is brilliant so I’m certain the finished product will be fab too!
These days we don’t see a bride throw her bouquet often but Gemma threw hers in the evening on the dance floor, it was one very enthusiastic and speedy throw and we were lucky to manage to get a photo of it.
Gemma and Jay sent us two lovely e-mails after their wedding which I’m sure they won’t mind me sharing. The first was before they’d seen their photos and the second was after:
I thought I would just send you an email to say a massive thank-you for helping to make mine and jays day so special, you were absolutely amazing and we feel so honoured to have had you as our photographer. We have had so many lovely comments from our guest saying how amazing you and your husband were, you were so relaxed and we thoroughly enjoyed having you as our photographers, we honestly could not thank-you enough.
Thank-you again, so excited to see the photographs 🙂

Here’s the one after:
Thank-you so much for the absolutely wonderful photos, we sat down last night in two sessions going through all the photos with my mum and john! I have sent the link to the families and bridesmaids too! They are all absolutely stunning and we love every single one of them!! It’s going to be so hard to go through them all to select ones we want printed.
Thanks to you and David again for our wonderful photos 🙂 they are amazing, we are going to go through them all again today!

It means so much to us when our couples say such lovely things and truly we feel like we’re the lucky ones being chosen to be a part of your day.
Gemma and Jay are such a wonderful couple who we wish all the best for in their future together and we really hope that they’ll stay in touch and that our paths may cross again in the future.
So, here’s what you’ve all been waiting for and a small selection of photos from their day for you to have a look at
