Fliss & Pete’s Wedding at Rookery Meadow by Suffolk Wedding Photographers Hayley Denston Photography

Our last May wedding was Fliss and Pete’s day which took place at Redenhall Church followed by their reception at Rookery Meadow. This is the first time we’ve photographed at Rookery Meadow and it was a real treat. They are a venue where you bring in everything yourself (including your marquee) and you’re surrounded by beautiful fields and ponds! We were blessed with extraordinarily hot weather (which is slightly ironic as part of their theme was wellie boots as they thought it might rain!) and sunshine all day.

I’ve known Pete for a fairly long time (his dad is my accountant and we used to see Pete and his dad at Badminton each week until we moved house and changed Badminton Halls) and so we felt privileged to photograph their day. I didn’t realise until their actual wedding day that David had coached Pete at Cricket too when he was a youngster (making David feel really old!). Fliss and Pete are such a sweet couple that are both slightly camera shy so they wanted the majority of their day captured as informally as possible (with only a few formal groups – just how we like it!). They’ve kindly agreed that I can share the following photos on here with you which I’m really pleased about as we adore their photos and it’s so nice for you all to get a peep at their day.

One of the highlights of this day was the rowing boat in the evening and also the tonnes of confetti at the church which blew everywhere in the wind swirling around the church. The marquee was decorated beautifully with stunning lanterns on the ceiling,  Fliss’ mum did the flowers in the marquee and Fliss’ dad allowed them to use his vintage car.  The afternoon reception had drinks and canapes served outdoors and having pints of beer as one of the drinks options went down incredibly well with the guests enjoying the afternoon sunshine.

Fliss and Pete are a gorgeous couple, so smiley and happy and quite clearly adored by all their friends and family (and it’s not hard to see why). We’re certain that you two are going to have a long, happy and blissful marriage ahead of you and we wish you all the love in the world for your future together.

Here’s a small selection of their day
