This was a little bit of a different wedding for us as it was a whirlwind of meeting Ella and Callum only three weeks before their wedding day as they’d been let down by their photographer at very short notice. I truly believe everything happens for a reason though and I’m so delighted we got to photograph this day as Ella and Callum are exactly our kind of couple who we love working with. Their day was a relaxed and chilled out affair with an earlyish ceremony time in the main hall before mingling outside for drinks and canapés in the beautiful gardens. This is the first time working at Hengrave that I’ve been asked by the couple to photograph them with the Dementor’s Statue (any Harry Potter fans will see the likeness although I’m not sure Hengrave call their statue this!). It is a scary statue and definitely a different bride and groom couples pic!
Hengrave is a beautiful venue and with such a gorgeous couple to work with it was a pleasure being a part of this day. Ella looked stunning and radiated 1930’s/1940’s glamour (this only changed slightly when she swapped her shoes for some more comfy retro looking 1980’s silver trainers which were equally fab!) and Callum looked so happy and handsome, smiling continuously throughout the day. Such a sweet couple who we wish many years of happy marriage for.
The flowers for this day as you would expect were also very different and they had vegetables mixed in with them … everything from Asparagus and Chilies to Broad Beans and Cabbage Flowers. Very unusual, quirky and fun! Ella also made all the biscotti as wedding favours … shame I didn’t see any left over bits as I would have sampled them as they looked yummy!
We are so pleased Ella and Callum adore their photos as much as we do, here’s a very small selection from their day for you all to look at.
