Our first of many August weddings was Elaine and Jack’s day which took place at Benhall Church followed by their reception at Benhall Lodge Estate. This was a wonderful day to be a part of with such a relaxed atmosphere. Elaine and Jack are a shy couple who’d planned the day to be more of a celebration than a list of formalities to complete. As there were a lot of children attending (and many big kids too!) they had an ice-cream van, sweets and cake table, a bouncy castle, plenty of outdoor space to play football and Kimmy’s Mobile Zoo …. yes I said that last bit right, a mobile petting zoo came to their wedding and the guests got to meet lots of strange and wonderful animals … such a unique and fun idea! The chilled out vibe continued all day and evening with the speeches being done informally outside before people helped themselves to the BBQ and everyone could sit wherever they wanted as there was no seating plan. This was also the first time ever that we’ve seen a blue wedding cake and (despite how that sounds) it looked so elegant and unusual.
Elaine wore a fitted lace dress and looked beautiful and Jack looked dashing in his suit (finished off with a bracelet Elaine’s son and their little boy had given him for Fathers Day saying ‘Love you Daddy’). Elaine’s flowers were stunning with beautiful colours and a lovely rustic, natural feel to them and the little flowergirls headdresses were so pretty.
This was a fantastic day with tonnes to photograph and I’m so glad that you chose us to document your wedding for you. Your friends and family were all so welcoming that we felt more like guests than just the photographers. We adore the photos from your day and we’re certain you’ll have many happy years of marriage ahead of you both. We hope that our paths may cross again in the future at some point.
Here’s a few of the many photographs from this day
