As those of you who read this regularly know we are Suffolk Wedding Photographers based in Suffolk and most of our work tends to be in this county. However, the last three weddings we’ve photographed we’ve had to pop over the border into the equally beautiful Norfolk which makes a nice change and meant we got to see some of our favourite wedding venues in Norfolk.
The first of these three weddings was Dawn and Richard’s vintage wedding day which took place at Dairy Barns in Hickling. Dairy Barns is a beautiful, rustic wedding venue and Hannah and all her staff there always make us very welcome. There was lots of bunting, cath kidston materials and a real old fashioned, homely feel to the day. We had lovely weather for June (which we tend to find to be a month that can be a little temperamental) , not to hot or too cold with a slight breeze and regularly the sun popping out from behind the clouds.
Dawn and Richard are a really sweet couple who I liked instantly from their first e-mail so we were delighted to be able to photograph their day for them. Everything took place at Dairy Barns and it was an intimate day with less than 40 of their closest friends and family attending. They chose to have an afternoon tea which looked so scrummy. Dawn and Richard made their cake themselves (I was very impressed as it looked like a professional cake maker had made it) and there were so many little details that made their day special. They also hired a vintage VW campervan called Lucy which I love in their photos with the fields (the next day they went off travelling around Norfolk and Suffolk for their honeymoon in her).
Their ceremony (I have mentioned this in a previous post so sorry for those of you who’ve read this already) was one we shall never forget … it’s the only one so far we’ve ever photographed where at the line where the registrar says … if anyone knows of any lawful reason why these two should not be wed you must declare it now …. the farm cat waltzed in the back door with the loudest meaoowwww and everyone laughed …. what a perfect moment.
I love so many of their photos I don’t really know where to start with the select few on here. I’m sure many of these photos will be winging their way onto our galleries later this year so here’s just a few to peep at now (just hit the play button to have a look at them).
Dawn has since sent me the following e-mail and we are as always grateful for your thanks and allowing us to be a part of your day. We hope that you’ll stay in touch in the future and we wish you a lifetime of happiness together.
Thank you so much for all of our wonderful pictures, we spent hours looking at all the pictures last night they are just amazing and we can not thank you enough they are just perfect and you capture the whole day and atmosphere perfectly!
